The Cog Arrives On Our Shores (Well, in the Warehouse!)

Dear Fellow Collector,

Our Viking ship always seemed a bit lonely without another vessel to board & raid...........................

The Amazing "Medieval Cog" is now available for order & should be setting sail for your collection on or about February 1st.  This gorgeous work of art depicts the standard 'war ship' of the Middle Ages as it would have appeared when in use by the Angles, the Saxons , the Welsh, the French, the Normans or any other number of ocean going warriors.  This vessel is perfect for transporting Crusaders to the Holy Land  or for toy soldier sailings just about anywhere in Europe or the Mediterranean. (I've always wondered how Crusaders made by other manufacturers were ever supposed to arrive in Acre without transport?????)

In  full 1/32nd scale to 'go with' Conte figures( no artificial or historically inaccurate downsizing of the vessel's size/scale  for us !), it is the perfect 'opponent' for the Conte Viking Ship and will provide a wonderful setting for 'ship to ship ' combat between Vikings and the Anglo -Saxons or Normans.

Anyone out there remember Kirk Douglas kidnapping Janet Leigh during the film "The Vikings"??  Grappling hooks & arrows and spears and axes flying between ships???  Wounded hanging in the ratlines??? Damsels in distress and captives being taken?....I certainly do--and while this ship is not copied from the greatest of all films--it is my attempt to at last be able to create  all sorts of action in international waters!!

The Cog is made of cold cast resin & is individually hand-painted to our usual  excellent standards. She is about 30" long with flags in place and over 2 feet tall and has both forecastle and sterncastle designed to enhance 'playability' with Medieval figures.  Helmsmen(not included) will be available  soon as an add-on set and please understand that all sorts of 'crew' in various fighting poses are forthcoming from Conte including many poses which are specifically designed to 'interact' with the Cog's environment.  Many of our recently released Valhalla Awaits figures as well as our earlier sets of Vikings, Saxons & Normans are also  perfect for use with the Cog.

While most toy soldier manufacturers lack the audacity  & commitment to  even attempt such an exciting and complex project( we can understand why as these sorts of sculpting & production challenges are no picnic), our Medieval range & our Conte collectors were crying out for a ship of this 'stature' .....and we've obliged.  Sorry for the delay....I think it was worth it.
